We spent some time just about 2 weeks ago with Amanda+Mike for their engagement session. They picked a spot that we hadn’t been to before and it certainly didn’t disappoint. We wandered around trying to figure out the map to get to the waterfront and got a little lost but still so many pretty locations with such pretty light. As we finished up we realized we should have just followed the gravel driveway to the water…I don’t know how we didn’t realize this initially. It all seemed so obvious after the fact.
Amanda+Mike had their first official date at a Bruins game so we started with some Bruins gear as a little nod to that. I love when couples decide to make choices for their engagement session that are special for them. The two of them were so fun together, lots of laughs during their session. We always tell couples it’s going to feel awkward during your session, no matter how comfortable you are having your photo taken, it just feels weird at first until you loosen up a bit. Love this, just the sweetest moment. I love this pose and I always tell the guy, you’re going to get bonus points from your fiancée for showing some sweetness in the photos. So snuggle up and be sweet to her!!
After the Bruins gear Amanda+Mike both opted to change to something a little fancier. I just loved the skirt that Amanda brought, such a pretty floral material, and the way it moved. She was a trooper and hiked all around the property in it! While they were changing we took advantage of the time and stole Amanda’s engagement ring for some photos. It is a stunner of a ring, great job picking it out Mike 😉
Just look at this gorgeous glowy light we had, so perfect with Amanda’s skirt. I love the genuine laughter we captured. You can tell Amanda+Mike are always laughing together.
These next few were during our journey to find the water. Like I mentioned we got a little lost and sidetracked on the property but we still took advantage of the lovely scenery and stopped for some portraits. During engagement sessions it’s often us wandering around and finding little interesting areas & good light. Another great laughing photo of Amanda. I’m always drawn to these candid moments of joy!
It took us a little while to back track and find the waterfront, but we finally did. It was under construction a bit (FYI for other photographer’s finding our blog and considering this location…check to see if the waterfront area has been completed). It was a little muddy but we made the best of it and still found a spot that worked with the waterfront view. This wooden fence was a perfect opportunity for Amanda to bust out her cowboy hat.
Amanda had one more dress she brought to try out so after walking away from the waterfront back towards the parking lot (on the gravel driveway we missed before) we stopped to take advantage of the soft light and the pretty grass. I’m happy to report we all made it out without any ticks…I was worried when I started climbing through the tall grass!
We completed our journey where we started taking advantage of hill and more soft light while the sun was quickly setting. We made it up the hill for the last little bits of sunlight & it was a perfectly soft pink sky from the hill top.
