Senior Portraits in Downtown Lowell, MA with Julia

Another fun senior portrait session in Lowell.  These are some of my favorite Lowell senior portraits.  I might have found my new favorite area in Lowell.  The hardest part of photographing senior sessions in Lowell is deciding what part of Downtown we should use.  I knew this area around Boarding House Park would be great. I just didn’t realize how great it would be.  We had the glow with some sunlight images and cool backgrounds. What more could you ask for? I even remembered to experiment with my prisms for a few portraits.

Shout out to Julia for being down to try whatever I suggest.  When I told her to lay down on the stairs she didn’t miss a beat. She’ll be starting her senior year at Acton Boxborough this Fall.  I can’t stress enough, the way to get really cool senior portraits is to be open to trying different poses or to act a little silly.  You’ll see in a couple images as you scroll, Julia kind of dancing and vibing.  It was all because a car drove past us with their music super loud.  We both couldn’t help but dance for a minute.  It was such a perfectly candid unposed moment and I love it.

This session shows off how you can do a quick change. Just changing her top and shoes to added more variety to her senior photos.  Another easy way to mix it up if you like wearing makeup is to start with a neutral glossy lip and switch to a bolder color for the second part of your session.  You can do the same thing by changing up your jewelry or add a cute hat for part of the session.
