Edgy and Fun Senior Portraits in Downtown Lowell with Tara

Tara is going to be a senior at ABRHS.  We met up for her senior portrait session in Downtown Lowell.  She wanted edgy and fun senior portraits. Downtown Lowell always delivers! I’ve got a few favorite locations for senior photos downtown, we hit up some of my favorite spots.  We ended her session on the top floor of the nearby garage. It was the best choice we could have made. I love when my seniors want to do something a little more edgy and fun for their senior photos.

Tara is so fun to photograph and to collaborate with.  She loves to come up with her own poses. She is always open to being silly and trying something out that might not work. This is one of my biggest tips to get great senior photos. Be open to try a pose that seems weird.  If I tell you to walk towards me and sway your arms around take the risk and commit to it.  Often the image I capture is going to look cool and natural.  Movement makes for really great images! If I ask you to climb onto a street light and hang off of it, trust me, it’s going to be awesome. (and if it isn’t, it’s not a big deal…but you’ll see when you keep scrolling that it was pretty cool).

Make sure you scroll to the end of the blog post to check out the last few images we captured before taking the elevator back down.  Tara and I noticed the orange light near it. We both knew it would be worth it (even though by this point we were all sweating). The orange light combined with blue light of twilight was perfect. I did almost get smushed in the elevator doors and had the elevator alarm yelling at us.
