It was a gorgeous day at the end of July for Niki+Jim’s wedding in Plymouth, MA. Niki+Jim found us after we shot Kate+Dave’s wedding last September on Martha’s Vineyard. Thanks for having us there to capture your wedding day and create some amazing images for you. It was a day full of love and fun for everyone.
I started with Niki getting ready with her mom after having her hair and makeup done at a salon nearby. Soon enough her bridesmaids started arriving all ready to go!Drew started the day with the guys in the hotel as well. It’s always nice when the couple both get ready at the same location!
Niki’s sister Dee had this special clutch made to match the bridesmaids dresses using a brooch from their grandmother. It was a really special touch to Niki’s wedding day attire.
After the final details we were ready to walk over to the church. It was awesome how close we were and it was only a few minute walk to the church. The guys were hiding out waiting for the ceremony to start while Niki was hanging out in front of the church saying hi to guests as they came into the church.
The church, St. Peter’s in Plymouth, is beautiful and was a gorgeous location for the ceremony.
During the ceremony Niki, her sister and her father sang a beautiful song. Music is clearly a huge part of Niki’s life and she often performs (she sang at Kate+Dave’s wedding). It was a really sweet and unique moment during the ceremony.
After the ceremony we walked over to the East Bay Grille, such a cool and fun part of the day. Drew and I were running ahead to be ready to grab photos of the group walking by us. We took some time to take some photos of the wedding party and with Niki+Jim’s families.
Then it was time for us to spend time with Niki+Jim and shoot some portraits of just them. We walked down to the little walkway and took advantage of the all the gorgeousness around us!
Next it was time for the party to start!
Niki and Jim went right into their first dance, followed by the parent dances.
Niki and her Dad often perform together and obviously have a deep love for music. They took a break during their dance to break it down!Next it was time for toasts, with Niki’s sister starting out. She surprised Niki and Jim with a song that she had written and recorded special for the day.
Niki often writes songs and performs them at her friends and families weddings. Her sister, Dee wanted to do this, but decided it would be too difficult to perform live (and not be crying). I don’t think their was a dry eye in the house. After all the formalities it was time to get the party started. Monica and Bryan of Night Rhythm were amazing and kept the dance floor packed the entire night.
It was a given that Niki would get a mic in front of her during the reception. She was breaking it down with Monica!
