We had an amazing time celebrating with Kate Dave at the  Winnetu Resort in Edgartown. It was a gorgeous day at the end of September (you’d have thought it was a summer day). Kate kept mentioning how she planned a summer wedding in the fall 🙂 Shooting on the beach is now my favorite thing to do, I’d make the trip to the vineyard to shoot at Winnetu any day! Kate and Dave, thank you, for having us join you on the vineyard we can’t wait till we have the chance to go back.
We started off the day at Kate’s parents house not too far from the resort. I’ve been waiting for the chance to bring a wedding gown outside so I jumped at the chance to use the yard at the house.
Don’t you just love the dog’s special wedding day attire!
I can’t look at these photos and not start humming Alicia Key’s song Girl on Fire. Kate’s niece and bridesmaids were singing it at the top of their lungs while Kate was putting her dress on.
Next it was time to head out and hop on the wooden wagon that the Winnetu sent over to pick up the bridal party.
Kate and Dave opted for a first look which gave them the chance to enjoy the cocktail hour after the ceremony. We picked a spot in some open shade (because it was a gorgeous sunny day) and it gave just the two of them a chance to see each other and naturally interact. We love doing first looks because you see so much emotion when the couple sees each other for the first time.
After the first look we brought the rest of the wedding party and their families over to shoot some portraits before the ceremony.
Love these shots of Kate and Dave with the chess pieces.
Next thing we knew it was time to hop on the wooden wagon for the trip to the beach. Drew and I couldn’t fit so we ran down the resorts front lawn and followed a path to the beach. I’ve mentioned it already but I need to say it again. We’d love to shoot at the resort again. Shooting a wedding ceremony with bare feet in the sand is the best feeling ever.
Kate and Dave (and her mom) did an amazing job with all the details. The candy bar was AMAZING!!
Outside on the lawn of the resort they had set up games for their guests to play. Kate and Dave had fun playing too. Next thing you knew it was time for introductions and the first dance.
The resort has this amazing bike contraption. I had to do some research, it’s called a Cobi Bike. We were told by the wedding cordinator that there are only a couple in existence, Google is another place you can find one.
We snuck away for about 10 minutes right at sunset for some more portraits 🙂 The best time of day for portraits!!
Before the dance floor was opened up it was time for Dave to dance with his mom. I love the mother/son dance 🙂
Then the band opened up the floor for everyone to start dancing, and dance is what they did! I love a wedding where everyone is having a great time on the dance floor. You’ll usually find me (Amanda) dancing around with everyone!

Thanks again Kate Dave for letting us celebrate with you 🙂
