I had the pleasure of hosting (along with Danielle’s lovely mom Lenora) my good friend Danielle’s baby shower at the end of June. We decided to keep it casual and did it in her mom’s backyard. Lenora took care of renting a tent and preparing lots of yummy food. I designed the invitation (side note: I love designing & making invitations & other paper items and it is something that I have done for friends…I am planning on offering printable invitations & other stationary in the near future, but if you want something custom designed contact me and we can work something out). I also made yummy lemon chiffon & raspberry frosting cupcakes as well as made a variety of decor for the party (you’ll see in the images).
The day of the shower was a busy day. Prue, my Mom and I headed up to Lenora’s early (after packing the car tight with decorations, cupcakes & gifts) to help finish setting up. We use to own a bakery when I was younger so my Mom was put on cupcake frosting duty. I finished setting up decorations and tying ribbon on the favors (yummy s’more treats from Sweet Lydias).
Soon enough everything was set up and people started arriving. Danielle arrived early, no surprise there, and helped with the final details. We then ate some delicious food and opened lots of gifts! I was on photog duty (of course that was where I wanted to be!). It proved to be a little more difficult at times because Prue wanted to sit on my lap while I was shooting. I even did some shooting while holding Prue (Once you are a mom you can do anything!)
I printed out different jungle animals and attached them to floral wire to put in the plants. It was cute and it was an inexpensive way to jazz up the plants.
We had lots of fun lanterns hung up. I designed and printed the banner to hang over the gifts (I can custom design one for your next party. Once you print it out it’s not too difficult to cut out and attach to the ribbon)
Danielle’s mom made this adorable diaper cake! I love the ribbon she found to tis it all together. It is super cute!!
Yummy S’more Favors from Sweet Lydia’s. These were a big hit. Both the adults and children thought they were yummy and super cute.
The Lemon Chiffon cupcakes I made. It’s from the book, the cupcake doctor. I love this book, you take a cake mix and then doctor it up to make fancy and delish cupcakes. These were nice and fluffy and the raspberry frosting I decided to make (with the assistance of my sister Mel was a good addition!). I also designed and made these cupcake toppers.
Can you even handle all the gifts! This baby is so loved. There were a ton of diapers behind this table too. I don’t know how they were able to fit it all into their house.
Danielle getting hugs from her little brother Nicolas. He came up with his mom from Florida to spend some time with them. I know Danielle misses him lots.My twister (twin sister) getting kisses from my daughter Prue. She loves her Auntie.

Lenora relaxing for a bit and enjoying watching Danielle open gifts.
Danielle excited that she got a feely blanket for the baby. They are so soft and smooth. Moments later Prue nabbed these stuffed animals and put them in a baby carriage to play with them.

Danielle & Jared the soon to be parents taking it all in after the shower! I can’t wait till Baby Y arrives. I am so excited to meet him/her and spoil the baby rotten just like Auntie Daniella has done for Prudence.
